Starting an I7 Community Group

I7 Community Groups are the focus of the ministry. In these small groups is where real change begins. It is here where trust is built, and conversations can go beneath the surface and beyond the superficial. Using the A Journey to Integrity and Wholeness book and workbook, groups take a deeper dive into living with integrity in every area of life and moving toward the wholeness God originally intended.
Starting an
I7 Community Group
Step 1
Read the Book
The first step, if you have not already done so, is to read the book A Journey to Integrity and Wholeness. The book will lay out the concepts of integrity and wholeness. Read the reflection questions for each section for further insight. By reading the book and thinking through questions, you will then need to decided if this is the right fit for your group. It is designed for every man, but not every man is ready to go beneath the surface and beyond the superficial.
Step 3
Contact I7 Ministry
We would encourage you to book a meeting with our ministry to help you plan effectively for your I7 Community Group. You can schedule your free consultation here. Come with any questions you may have about the material or group dynamics. We are here to help you to navigate the unknowns, the pitfalls, and the positives. We believe this can be a life-changing study by helping men be set free to live in the integrity and wholeness God has intended.
Step 5
Have your Initial Meeting
Contact your men to schedule a time and place for your initial meeting. Scheduling can be a challenge with men. Between family, work, and play finding a time slot that works for everyone can be difficult. Be persistent and work it out. This is one of the reasons gathering who is in the group is important. This meeting should introduce the study to the group. Having your copy of the book and workbook would be essential to helping the group know the purpose of the group. Discuss the 2 Corinthians 1 concept. Discuss the Rules of Engagement. Then find out who is willing to take the journey. Set up when, where and how often you will meet. Start the journey.
Step 2
Watch the Introductory Video
The next step we would encourage is to watch the Introductory Video. You can access the video here. This will help give you a better understanding of our ministry and the direction of the study. The study is not designed to check-a-box, but to change the trajectory of lives. Not everyone wants to go down this path. Make sure this is for you.
Step 4
Gather Your Group
This is a important step that should not be taken lightly. It is possible that you are already in a group and want to utilize this material in the existing group. That is helpful as the trust factor and familiarity of others is already present. If you are starting a new group, it is encouraged that you limit the group to 3-6 men. It is harder to build trust and encourage participation with larger groups. The goal of the group is to dig deeply into the areas of integrity and wholeness. Are you really ready to explore these deeply personal areas with the men in the group?
Step 6
Prepare for Each Meeting
Be the facilitator of your group, but also be a participant. Encourage each man to read the lesson before the meeting so that they can come prepared to have a fruitful discussion. We encourage you to read the lesson and any Scripture references. Seek to understand why the Scripture references were chosen. Watch the video related to the lesson on the Small Group Lesson Video page. Make sure to check out the Reflection Questions at the end of the book. These can be a great resource for challenging the group to think more deeply about the lesson. Finally, if you need more help with a lesson or in general, email us to ask for help. We are always here to assist you.
